Are air purifiers healthy for rats?
Are air purifiers healthy for rats?
I am going to get rats and I was wondering if air purifiers would mess with them in any way. I know this question may seem stupid, but I think it’s better to be safe than sorry.
Thanks!
Your question is not stupid at all. An air purifier is a great idea but not a requirement. The purifier will help reduce the amount of ammonia in the air that is produced from rat urine. Of course it doesn’t replace regular litter changes. Small rodents in enclosures can get sick very easily from ammonia. They will develop upper respiratory infection which are lethal to the little guys.
An air purifier will not harm them, but will benefit them.
It sounds like you have the best in mind!

I dont imagine the air would harm them, but it might be a good idea to use a humidifier as well,I read that dry air isnt good for rats…
If you already have an air purifier, no problem. Do not buy one for them.
A humidifier is a good idea. I use one in my birdroom. Birds and plants love it. Humans too. Rats surely will.
