Do those Ionic Air Purifiers really work?

I have a dog and a cat. NO allergies, just want to cleanse the air in my house.

I’m really interested in hearing about the air purifiers with the IONIC technology that emits negative (positive? i don’t know) ions into the air.

Anyway, which air purifiers, if any, work well and cost little to operate (i.e. replacement filters, etc.)

((Personal experiences plz))

We have the Sharper Image Ionic Breeze and it works, in our bed room and i have a better nights sleep. We also have a smaller one in the bathroom and you can actually notice the clean air smell. they aren’t the cheapest to purchase HOWEVER there is no replacement filter, just clean the one that is inside with a damp cloth, it is easy to do

As far as free-standing air-purifiers go, the answer is no. They cover a very small area, if they work at all. It has to be treated at the whole house level, meaning that an air purification system that mounts in the HVAC system for it to be effective. Why does it have a mold problem? You need to deal with the source of the mold problem; not just the symptoms.

We have one. I’m not really sure how well they work against mold etc, but ours collects a lot of dust in the back, so that’s good, & it makes the house smell cleaner.
