Does air travelling through an electrostatic filter (like Filtrete) get ionized?

they are missnamed, they dont truly ionize air. they clean the air by allowing the elctrostatic charge to cause impurities to stick to the filters, but the air itself does not ionize. ionized gases tend to glow and release heat.
