Does anyone own an air purifier with an activated carbon filter and/or HEPA filter, help me please?

I have a Kenmore room air cleaner with a HEPA filter and a carbon pre-filter, plus an Ionizer. If yours has an Ionizer, it could be the ozone that you are smelling. Any air that blows by your face whether side ways or from the ceiling will dry your eyes eventually if sitting there long enough. Verify if in fact your unit has an ionizer. If not, then you have another problem. Are your filters installed properly per the user’s manual? Room purifier only pulls air in through the two filters and expels it out through the top. It doesn’t add anything to this process, well, mine doesn’t anyway.
