Does cleaning carpets work to remove cat dander?

Buying a house pet owners?

My husband and I plan to buy a house we love. However, a particular problem "the cat, which I am very allergic. Even staying at home for a few minutes causes my allergies, despite medication against allergies at first. Our real estate agent assured us that getting the carpet cleaned and the house completely clean before moving must take care of the problem, provided that you also change filters in the HVAC system. For those of you with the experience of buyers (brokers, property): Is this true? Carpet Cleaning T / walls / work, etc. to remove all the cat hair and make the home safe for a person with allergies pet? Or both? Please let me know. Thank you!

You'll never be able to eliminate 100% of allergens from carpeting. If it was hardwood, I'd say go ahead. But allergens effectively buried Inthe carpet. You can find yoruself replace it!

Cats hair is almsot impossible to get rid off, why not tile the house instead, i am asthmatic and am allergic to cats but with tiled floors i am able to even have my own can ( given its not on the furniture) you seem highly allergic so maybe even tiles wont work… if the house is as good as you say then just try the carpet cleaning… i dont know

At the Home Depot there is this new kind of carpet called Puresque and it’s an "odor eater" carpet. The material used absorbs dirt and odors. Maybe that could help. If not, try Capture Carpet Cleaner, it’s a miracle.
