Good basic overview of HEPA
I know HEPA is best, but I wish HEPA was washeable… Thanks for info
That would be nice, I agree. but it’s like trying to lose weight without exercise – some things just have to be done right.
There are two types of HEPA filters:
1) True HEPA filter (99.97%)
2) HEPA-Type filter (up to 99%)
Most air purifiers use 2) and says that use just HEPA (not specified which type).
Thanks for the comment. The Alive Air Purifier has a large “true-HEPA” filter. A company must say “HEPA-LIKE” if it is not a true hepa filter, so you rarely hear anyone say “TRUE-HEPA”
How much does the Alive Air Purifier macine HEPA filter cost? How long wil it last? and how big is it?
$29 – 1 year – 12 x 12
If you have allergies HEPA is the place to start to remove pollen and dust. The video is correct that it won’t help with viruses, germs, etc. Anyone with allergies generally has a weaker immune system and should get as many technologies (like UV,\Tio2, electrostatic, ne. Ion, etc.) as they can along with HEPA.
I bought a honeywell HEPA – so loud I couldn’t sleep with it on
Thanks for insights
It uses an old Brush motor whereas the alive air has a quiet brushless motor (also uses less electricity and lasts longer)
Isn’t UV produces ozone that’s harmful ?
I had a HEPA air purifier that would detect farts. Whenever I farted, the thing would come on. I am not kiddin you. I don’t know if it took the fart odor out, but it certainly detected the farts.
good advice – I don’t suggest HEPa alone, but I do for allergies
