Stores that sell HEPA Air Purifiers?
I’m looking for a air purifier that uses a HEPA filter, NOT an ionizer. I live in Perth, W.A. and can’t seem to find them anywhere. I’m talking about ones by brands such as Hamilton Beach. They don’t sell them at Big W, Target or Retravision. I looked on a few online stores that ship to Australia but they only sell a few cheap Ionizers

ALLERGISTS: Ionic Breeze vs. Hepa Filter :please read question?
All of my family suffers with allergies, I have heard a lot of good things about the Ionic Breese. Recently someone told me that buying that is a waste of money and the Hepa Filter air purifier is better but they did not say why- before I purchase one, I would like some opinions, which is better Ionic Breeze or a Hepa Filter purifier and WHY?? Price is of moderate importance- I want something that will really help with our allergies and is not just a fad. Thank you for serious aswers- I don’t care how long the answer is as long as it is informative and honest.
asthma…air purifier?
i have very bad asthma, but only when it comes to being around any cleaning products, pollen, dust…i also have 4 cats and im sure the cat hair starts it up too….i am looking for an ionic breeze or an air purifier, that’s cost effective and also does not eat up a lot of electric so that i can leave it on at all times…anyone have any suggestions or links for them?
How effect are air purifiers?
My one year old little girl has had a lot of problems breathing. She has been in the hospital at least twice because she has difficulty breathing. The doctors told us that she has bronchalitis. They will not diagnose her with asthma yet because she is too young. I have recently finished an environmental science class and with that new insight I believe that an air purifier will help her with breathing, at least when she sleeps. My wife is a little more skeptic on the issues. She doesn’t believe that an air purifier will necessarily help our daughter. She is worried that the air purifier will put out more pollutants in to the air then it takes out. I have been looking into air purifiers with a three filter combination (pre-filter, carbon filter, and hepa filter) to maximize the purification. We will not be getting an ozone purifier or an ion purifier do to the chance that extra ozone will be put into the air from the purifier. Thank you for any help you can give.
AIR purifiers and pet odors?
What air purifiers have you found to be best in dealing with pet odors in the home? We do not have air conditioning so most of our problem is related to stale air. Any suggestions?
I have horrible allergies and need to keep my windows closed most of the time. Also air fresheners will not help because I am pregnant and can’t stand the smell of them.
I used them in the past but this is why I am now resorting to buying a high quality air purifier- can’t stand the smell of fresheners and candles.
Does anyone own an air purifier with an activated carbon filter and/or HEPA filter, help me please?
I recently bought the Vocarb 5000 from AllerAir. Everytime I try using it, the room gets extremely hot and the air smells weird. My eyes also begin to itch. Could mine be malfunctioning? Is there any danger? Or, from experience, can anyone tell me if it is normal for such air purifiers to heat a room up, or perhaps introduce an odd odor or something into the air.
As the air purifier is brand new, there should be nothing in the filters. Is it typical of new products, particularly electronics and things like air purifiers, to emit such odors when new? The fact that my eyes itch when around is what has me pensive, and it isn’t just me. When somebody else was in the room, there eyes itched also.
Is there any possibility, at all, that the air purifier is putting out something toxic into the air? Could it be a health hazard?
Could it by that the filter is merely taking all the moisture out of the air, and that’s what’s drying out my eyes?
No, mine does not have an ionizer.

Anyone have suggestions on the best air purifier for a smoke filled home?
I’m 28 an have been living in this house for most of my life. I moved out to live with boyfriends and what not, but for the most part have lived here. My uncle (who chain smokes) and my grandfather (who smokes cigars) has lived here the whole time I’ve been here, and before my mom and grandmother passed away they also smoked and lived here. Needless to say I’ve always got my fair share of 2nd hand smoke. I’m starting to get a cough now that I never had before, and I am wondering what is a good air filter for smoke? I have TWO air purifiers in my room that I have to constantly clean, of course one is old and the other is the ionic pro but with the smoke in this house it gets dirty SO fast I have to clean it every week.
I even have a filter type material double layered over my air vent but mostly that just keeps out dust, doesn’t work too well on smoke ;(
Some of you might say "well your 28, just move out" yea I wish I could..but I cant I because I’m taking care of my 81 year old grandfather who has cancer (he says cigars are his only "vice" and let me tell you, he smokes ALL day)
PLEASE I need advice on a good air purifier that’s affordable like 0 or under that is good for smoke & not just dust & allergens..any advice will be appreciated. I’m tired of not being able to breathe ;(
Air purifier to reduce dust in my room…?
I am looking for an air purifier that will reduce the amount of dust my room accumulates. Not just for the fact that I have a lot of expensive electronics in my room, but also because I seem to always have allergies. My room is about the size of an average college dorm room (not very big) so I am looking for like a table top one or something for less than 0. I was looking into that ionic breeze, however it got a good deal of negative reports especially from consumer reports. Anyone have any recommendations?
Electrolux Oxygen Central Vacuum & Air Purifier: “How it Works”
Electrolux Oxygen Central Vacuum & Air Purifier: Get the ultimate healthy living environment and proven allergy relief! www.electroluxoxygen.net Electrolux Oxygen Central Cacuum Systems remove dirt and debris from your house and send it through tubing located in your walls to the Power Units dirt receptacle. The Power Unit should be placed in an out-of-the-way location like a garage, basement, utility room or even a closet. With central vacuums, you only carry the cleaning set (a lightweight hose and power brush unit) around the house. No more lugging around a heavy vacuum! Cleaning sets are plugged into inlets around your house. When you first install a central vacuum system in your home, you get to decide where you want those inlets. An average home typically has three inlets (one for every 700-800 square feet). To clean your whole house, simply move your Quiet CleanTM Oxy Cleaning Set from inlet to inlet. You can even install an automatic dustpan which lets you quickly sweep debris into a wall vent using a regular broom. To empty the dirt receptacle in your Power Unit, simply unlatch the bucket at the bottom of the unit and empty into your trash. Our air purifier then cycles air from your home through three cleaning stages before returning clean, fresh air back into the living space. And, when combined with an Electrolux Oxygen Central Vacuum System, you get the ultimate healthy living environment and proven allergy relief.

Choice between air purifiers – Blueair or Air Lights?
Hi all – I’m looking to buy an air purifier for my bedroom (just over 150 sq.ft.), to help reduce dust, airborne allergens, etc. My mother smokes a lot, which also doesn’t help. Having been diagnosed with a (very) minor, restrictive lung disease, I’d like to start taking better care of my health – especially in regards to respiration. We do have the general air filter attached to the A/C / heating unit, but I would like something more.
Doing some research, I thought I would just get the Sharper Image Ionic Breeze, but have read many terrible things about it – specifically, the ozone produced is VERY bad for your health. Looking around, I found the Blueair 250E Digital Air Purifier (http://www.achooallergy.com/blueair250eairpurifier.asp#product_reviews) and the Air Lights Plasma Air Purifier (http://reviews.ebay.com/Review-of-the-Air-Lights-Plasma-Air-Purifier_W0QQugidZ10000000002480036).
I’m leaning towards the Blueair, but would like others input and suggestions!
Why is my room the hottest room in the house.?
I live in a prefab trailer in sc. 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms. And no matter what. My room is the hottest in the whole house. I do not have a heater or anything running. But even with the ac, my ceiling fan, and my air purifier (which blows out somewhat cool air and keeps it circulating) You can EASILY tell the difference when you walk in and out of my room. Its useful in the winter. But in the summer I hate being in my room. Does anyone know why this might be. I don’t think there is anything under the house producing a lot of heat, at least not that I can tell. So why is it that my room is so hot compared to the rest of the house. Even the master bedroom (which is bigger.) is cooler. And there is another room connected to my (separated by a wall of course) But that room does not have the same problem. Can anybody help me figure this out.
I am not sure is the room is in the southern part of the house. I will try to figure that out in the morning. My house has centeral air. And the ac unit is outside the house but it is only maybe 20 feet from my window. Cold and hot air seems to come out of the vent fine. When I put my hand over it I can feel the cool air coming out. The windows outside my room are not really shaded by trees, but it is so hot even all night.
I only have 1 wall that faces outside. The others face the hallway, living room, and my spare room. We have central air in the house. And I have no idea what the house is insulated with.
What is the best air purifier or filter for pet hair?
I have two white, long haired cats that I adore, but their hair is everywhere! Despite my best efforts to keep the house clean, it’s like it’s in the air. I recently bought an air purifier (ionic pro turbo) thinking it would help and didn’t realize until after I bought it that it does not collect the hair. I suppose it still helps with my allergies, but I also really need something to pull their hair out of the air in my house.
Lint brushes have become my best friend because I cant make it out of the house in black clothes without having white hair on me. Please help!
Who knows where may I purchase air purifier hepa filter without wasting much time?

I am concerned about the hair in the air which gets on my clothes and the clothes of my guests, not so much about the dander. The hair literally flys around in the air and it’s hard for me to catch all of it from vacuuming, etc.
