Ok , i’m not sure if you live in a house with vents or just in and apt, because they sell little air filters you can put on your vents that filter out the air, also furnace filers are great to. But if you want to go with the air purifier I would say the danby ones are quite good. Make sure you get one with hepa filtration that you can wash. Good Luck
I have been very pleased with the Oreck XL.It has a multi-speed fan with 3 filters. The 1st is similar to the filter for your furnace/AC.It captures the large particles. The second is an ionic grid that captures the microscopic particles. The rear filter contains activated charcoal to remove odors. The filters are easily removed for cleaning. The charcoal filter will have to be replaced, but can be found at suppliers online in a pack of 6 for a very reasonable price. There is a light that tells you when filters need cleaning. The unit itself is one of the more expensive, but you can purchase a factory reconditioned unit at heartlandamerica.com for just a little over $100.00.I bought mine there, and it is still working well after over 3yr’s.I’ve read complaints about the drying time required after the ionic grid is cleaned by soaking in soapy water then rinsed in fresh water. It must be completely dry or it will make a poping sound when it is back in place, and the power is turned on.I place mine in front of a fan for about 2 hr’s, and it is ready to go.
